Expert in Digital Forensics to Discuss the Affects of Cyber Growth on Industry and Innovation

Cambridge—November 14, 2013—Basis Technology, the global leader in multilingual search and text analytics, announced today that Dr. Brian Carrier, Vice President of Digital Forensics, will participate in a panel discussion at the Defense One Summit on the rapid growth of cyber – with an emphasis on training and education, the shifting jurisdictions of military and intelligence agencies, and the expanding role of industry. The panel, titled “What are the Limits & Boundaries of Cyber?” will take place today at 7:30am at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.

 

WHO: Dr. Brian Carrier, Vice President, Digital Forensics, Basis Technology. Dr. Carrier leads the digital forensics team at Basis Technology, delivering services and developing custom systems. He is the author of the book File System Forensic Analysis and developer of several open source digital forensics analysis tools, including The Sleuth Kit and the Autopsy digital forensics platform. Brian has a Ph.D. in computer science from Purdue University and worked previously for @stake as a research scientist and the technical lead for their digital forensics lab. Dr. Carrier is on the committees of many conferences, workshops and technical working groups, including the Annual DFRWS Conference and the Digital Investigation Journal.
